To podstawowy czasownik w języku polskim, tak samo jak czasownik “to be” w języku angielskim.
(It is the basic verb in Polish, the same as like “to be” in English.)

Możesz użyć aby wspomóc opisać rzecz lub osobę. To jest piękne. Ona jest piękna
(You can use to describe the thing or person. This is beautiful. She is beautiful. )
Możesz użyć żeby się przedstawić. Cześć, Ja jestem Luiza.
(You can use for introducing Hi! I am Luiza.)
Możesz użyć aby powiedzieć o twojej lokalizacji, miejsce zamieszkania (miasto, kraj).
Ja jestem z Krakowa. Ja jestem z Polski.
(You can use to say about your location, living place (city, country).
I am from Kraków. I am from Poland.
Możesz użyć przy pytaniach o tym gdzie coś się znajduje. np. Gdzie jest kot? Kot jest tutaj. / Czy laptop jest na biurku? Tak, jest
(You can use with the question about the location of things or people. e.x. Where is a cat? The cat is here. / Is the laptop on the desk? Yes, it is. )

Gdzie jest torebka? – lokalizacja rzeczy lub osoby
(Where is handbag? – the location of things or people)
Co to jest? To jest torebka – pytanie, kiedy nie wiesz, co to jest za rzecz
(What is this? This is a handbag. – question if you not sure what is that thing)
Kto to jest? To jest ciocia – pytanie, kiedy nie znasz osoby
(Who is this? This is aunt. – question, if you don’t know the person and you ask someone about the person.)
Dlaczego jest ciepło? Bo jest lato. – pytanie, kiedy nie rozumiesz
(Why is warm? Because is summer. – if you don’t understand something)
Skąd jesteś? – pytanie o pochodzenie, twój kraj
(Where are you from? – direct question about where you come from; city, country)
